One day i was looking through a number of competitions and trying to find a way to make some easy quick money. A number of applications were sent, mostly for junk i didn't need or for competitions I knew I had no chance of winning. For example, the types you get $30,000 for answering the easiest questions going.
I then kept searching for random ways to make money and came across a number of game shows. same idea just apply for them and see if I manage to get anything. Nothing out the ordinary just quiz shows etc. One caught my eye and wanted a little more detail. it was staying in a house with a number of people you didn't know, specifications didn't dive into many details apart from you were required to be on the show for 3 weeks and everything would be recorded and if you made it to the end contestants would share $500,000 but it read (some decisions will need to be made along the way and it's not as easy as it sounds)
Filling out the application it's asking for some specific details. Height, age, sexual preference, body pictures (everything covered) etc etc.
I actually forgot about the full application process as with these things you never hear back. Weeks had gone by and by chance I checked my emails and saw and email from a casting crew - it read:
Hi James,
Please be advised you have been selected for a final interview for the tv show "the house of secrets" please attend the following address at 2pm. Please bring anything with you that you think will be able to show or do that will appeal to us in the interview.
I didn't know what to do, my party trick is something I only do when I'm drunk and its quite a sexual thing, not something you would be showing to everyone. I felt I would just sell myself and if that wasn't enough then so be it, But in my head, I knew they must have liked something about my application so I was half way there.
2pm came and I made it to the interview room. I had been expecting hundreds of people however when I made it there only 4 people were sitting on the seats outside. All had similar attributes to me and all seemed like the reality tv type regulars. I have to say my heart dropped and I felt I had underestimated what was required and should've put some more effort into this interview. As I pondered about my decisions someone stepped out of a room and shouted "JAMES!!"
